Sheila Sri Prakash, Indian architect – Founder of Shilpa Architects

Sheila Sri Prakash was Created 6 July 1955 in Bhopal, India into S. Thangamma and Lt. Col. G.K.S. Pathy, an officer in the Indian Army. Sheila is the first Indian girl to have begun her own architectural practice.

Sheila attended the Rosary Matriculation School at Chennai. She educated in songs, classical Indian dance, and the arts. She began learning Bharatanatyam and gave her very first on-stage Arangetram functionality when she was four years old.

Sheila exhibited talent as a Kuchipudi dancer and Bharatanatyam and played with the Veenai musical tool. Sheila Sri Prakash was a pupil of Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam.

To provide her greater chances in the classical arts, her family moved to Chennai to become educated in Bharatanatyam by Sri Dandayudha Pani Pillai. She practiced Veenai, Classical Indian songs, Bharatanatyam, sculpting, Kuchipudi, and painting. As a Veenai artist, she performed Sivaleela Vilasam along with Radha Madhavam together with all the Veenai musician Chitti Babu.

She achieved a pre-university level from Stella Maris College, Chennai. She got her diploma of Bachelors in Architecture in 1973 in the Anna University School of Architecture and Planning.

Sheila designed and finished within 1200 architectural endeavors. She's thought of as India's top architects. A lot of the architectural projects are famous for its use of local arts, heritage, and culture as inspiration for her designs.

Her work ranges in the cheap Reciprocal House to energy-efficient industrial buildings, incorporated townships, custom bungalows, art galleries, sports stadiums, residential areas, industrial centers, public infrastructure, luxury resorts and facilities of instruction.

She made dwelling in Chennai using pioneered a method and also recycled materials for rainwater harvesting in 1993. Tamil Nadu State authorities made compulsory that this systemin 2003.

Shilpa Architects have been working lately on several jobs, such as HITEX exhibition centre in Hyderabad, Mahindra World City, South City Township by Larsen & Toubro, office construction such as HDFC Bank, Taj 5-star shore resort near Pondicherry, a LEED Platinum rated office construction for Cethar Vessels.

Her portfolio of architectural projects comprises Industrial architecture. Currently, she's designing a mill for Flextronics, the industry-leading tech hardware manufacturer.
