Just 50 years ago, the world was too much different from the World Now we see. The USA and its allies were entrapped in proxy wars with the Soviet Union. Those times, mobile, internet and computers were the things from science fictions.
So, how far people think they have come within 50 years. Pew Research Center conducted a survey participating 43000 individuals from the 38 countries.
If we look country wise, most positive assessment of life is found in Vietnam where more than 88% participants say “World Now is better than ever before”. India holds the second position (69%) and South Korea holds 3rd with 68% positive votes. All societies that have seen drastic economic and technological advancement since the late 1960s, not to mention the end of armed conflict in the case of Vietnam. A clear majority in Turkey (64% better) also feel of advancement and progress over the past five decades. However, In some of the more developed countries, publics also report that World Now is better than ever before, including 65% in Japan and Germany, and 64% in the Netherlands and Sweden.
